She emphasized that Palestine is not yet in a post-conflict era, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by communities, especially in light of the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Her powerful testimony underscored the urgent need for international support to protect and empower affected communities.

The event, organized by the Geneva International Centre for Justice in collaboration with in collaboration with International Organization for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (EAFORD), the Association Ma'onah for Human Rights and Immigration, and International Lawyers, focused on pathways to recovery through education, justice, and security. Shahd’s insights, alongside contributions from fellow speakers, underscored the importance of integrating these rights into recovery efforts.
