Riyada Program Opens New Opportunities for Palestinian Youth in Gaza

The Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development (PWWSD), in partnership with SPARK and with funding from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, launched the first day of the “Riyada Program” in Gaza on February 1, 2026. The initiative aims to strengthen the economic and social resilience of young Palestinians by equipping them with practical skills, psychosocial support, and business development tools.

The program targets 100 youth participants, with at least 60% women, prioritizing individuals from women‑headed households and families whose livelihoods have been impacted by current conditions. It provides 30 hours of intensive training in entrepreneurship, freelancing, digital marketing, small business development, and other promising sectors such as e‑commerce, creative industries, agriculture, and home‑based food production. Participants also receive tailored psychosocial support and professional mentorship to help them adapt to ongoing challenges and pursue sustainable economic opportunities.

Institutional representatives highlighted the program’s importance in addressing the realities faced by youth in Gaza. They emphasized that “Riyada” not only builds technical and business capacities but also supports participants emotionally and socially, helping them plan for a more stable economic future. The program also strengthens the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem by connecting youth with local business support centers, professional networks, and partner institutions.

SPARK’s project leadership reaffirmed the program’s mission to create real employment opportunities, support sustainable economic development, and foster effective local partnerships that benefit Palestinian youth.
