On the 30th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration, the Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development and the Palestinian Delegation Meets with UN Ambassador to Discuss Women's Rights and National Priorities

New York, March 10, 2025 - The delegation of the Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development and the participating delegation of the State of Palestine in the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations, headed by the Minister of Women's Affairs Mona Khalili, met with the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Riyad Mansour, in New York.
During the meeting, the Palestinian delegation, led by Her Excellency Minister Mona Khalili, provided an overview of the delegation, explaining that it includes representatives of civil society who convey through events and activities the suffering of Palestinian women under Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. She also briefed Ambassador Mansour on the activities in which the Palestinian delegation is participating on the sidelines of the Commission on the Status of Women.
Ambassador Mansour emphasized during the meeting the necessity of continuing diplomatic efforts in the international arena to achieve Palestinian national goals, as well as the importance of collective action within the United Nations to achieve gradual and transformative change for the Palestinian people. He identified three key priorities: ensuring a sustainable ceasefire and peace, defending the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and ensuring the continuation of its work, and pursuing a political solution that guarantees peace and security for Palestine.
