The Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development (PWWSD) expresses its full support and unwavering solidarity with Her Excellency, Ms. Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in the face of unjust and politically motivated attacks by the U.S. administration.
The recent decision to impose sanctions on Ms. Albanese represents a clear rejection of efforts to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes against humanity. By targeting a respected UN mandate holder, the U.S. administration aligns itself with the violations of international law and further emboldens impunity for war crimes committed against the Palestinian people.
Ms. Albanese has consistently exemplified integrity, professionalism, and courage. She has refused to compromise on the universal principles of justice, freedom, and accountability. At a time when many global powers have chosen silence in the face of the ongoing genocidal crimes on Gaza, Ms. Albanese has become a courageous voice of truth—standing firmly on the side of international law and human rights.
Her evidence-based reports and powerful speeches before the United Nations have shed light on the crimes of the Israeli occupation and provided a critical foundation for accountability efforts under international humanitarian and human rights law. Her work has uplifted the voices of the oppressed and exposed systemic injustices.
PWWSD affirms that the sanctions imposed on Ms. Albanese are a continuation of the smear and incitement campaign waged against her by the Israeli occupation and its allies. These measures represent not only an attack on Ms. Albanese personally but also a broader assault on the independence of UN mechanisms and the credibility of international law.

It is time to end U.S. and colonial encroachment on the United Nations system and the obstruction of justice for the Palestinian people.
